"To be honest, I never put much thought into my rear rotor, it just sits back there quietly doing its job. Well, one day I was out perusing one of my favorite forums when I found a post about these custom cut rear rotors. I thought it was a pretty cool idea so I thought I'd check it out."

Looks kinda cool... But something I'd expect to see on more of a custom bike... Although, if it adds stopping power, I'm all for it... You can never stop too quick!!

Is the VFR rotor different than the other Honda's? They say they can cut rotors for most of the Honda models. Shoot Mike at CTSMoto an email. Better yet, send him a PM as he is a member of this forum!

I'm curious how well it works. Looks cool and all, but I'd be wary about all the open area and lack of surface area to induce friction. The rear doesn't take a whole lot of force before it locks up, so I guess even a bad rotor could still do its job. Not that I'm saying this is a bad rotor by any means. Yeah now I sound like every forum's obligatory angry pessimist. I have a 100 mile ride from Tucson to Phoenix today... in the rain. Maybe that's why. Maybe I'll write haikus later tonight about motorcycles for you guys to redeem myself.
Just curious how well it works.

It works great. I've put well over 1,000 miles on the rotor now, both solo and two up riding. I don't know why you'd be worried about the open area, these rotors aren't as open as most of the wave rotors I've seen. I think it's a great idea, using the stock holes to create new designs.
I did this mod more for the looks than any performance gain. Since the change I have notice a better feel from the rear brake. I don't know if it's because of less surface area or cooler operating temperature but I feel more comfortable when I'm applying the rear.

I've heard that wave cut rotors run cooler due to the fact that there isn't a constant friction against a solid surface.
And Kahuna, those gold pegs with the silver studs are just plain pimp. You can take that as good or bad i just thought i'd let you know.
I'm sort of an Anti-gold personality myself. I'm more of a bead blasted aluminum or brushed titanium guy myself. Takes all types to make the world go around though, right? :)

The gold is gone, opted for a more silver/carbon look:
