Looking like I'll be in the market for a couple new tires soon, and just wanted to get a few opinions on which way to go, or which ones to avoid....
Thanx

Pilots are not the same type of tire as the Corsa's. If you are more of a street rider I suggest the Pilot Powers, nothing but positive reveiws. Corsa's are more of a track day, but are used on the street. You won't get as many miles becuase of their soft compound.

I have PP's. Practically everyone in my riding club has PP's..even a guy Twisty on his Gixxer 1KR road bike, and he is an amateur W.E.R.A. racer in the 600 class who is currently 4th in points. He says that the PP's are awesome. Nicky Hayden did too. When he was asked to evaluate the tire, evidently he came in from his track session and exclaimed "These are great race tires". Someone told him..."Uh Nicky, these are road tires". He couldn't believe it because they were that good.
The PP's also have a harder center with softer edges, so they are rumored to last a fair while. Plus they're sticky right off the bat from cold.
I believe that the PP's are also a 'newer' tire than the Corsa. I like riding on newer technology. One time not too long ago, I entered a corner a little too hot because I couldn't brake as much due to some gravel on the corner entrance. Freaked me out for a second, bit I just hauled the bike over and it just went through without a peep!
They have my vote.

I use Pilot Power's on my track bike (many others at the track are doing the same).
I went through 2 sets of Michelin Pilot Race H2's before switching to the Powers. The Michelin Pilot Race H2's turn in quick due to their profile and feel stable when the bike is leaned over. They perform perfectly on the track for 2 days, on the third day they start to feel worn. I ran the first set for 4 days, on the fourth day they were scary. A set costs $400 installed.
The bike now has its second set of Pilot Powers. These are the same tires we used at the Freddie Spencer school. They're cheaper than the Pilot Race H2 tires, they stick better, and they last longer. The first set made it through 4 track days and still felt perfectly fine even though they were nearly worn out on the edges. A set costs $291 installed.
I plan to switch the 954 to the Pilot Powers as soon as the current set of Pilot Sports wears out.

Just an fyi... I stopped by the local Honda dealer during lunch today to check prices... The Michelin Power Pilots for my 929 (120 & 190) were $114.99 & $141.99... + tax... But that's cheaper than I've been able to find on Ebay this morning... They also mount & balance for $30 front, and $40 rear. That's dropping the bike off and picking it up completed... So, looks like next month I'll be sporting a new set of Power Pilots!!! And thanx again guys for all the advice...
And btw, Gator, YOU'RE the only one to flame me, so bite me....

In the Uk we seem to favour Dunlop 207RR's. Don't know whether they are available over the pond? Quite sticky rubber with good turn-in, but will do enough miles to be economic (well as far as running a blade can ever be economic!).

So Dr. Feelgood - when I sport my new PP's next month too - what will your excuse be then - hahaha
Honda only wanted 115 and 142 for the tires? Guess I'll be going there also!

Actually Gator, I didn't think I was looking for an excuse, since from the time we shift to 3rd, you can barely see my tail light....

Superbike UK did a big test on tires this summer. Interestingly the PP made it all the way up to 3rd spot compared to racier tires. The new Metzeler Racetec was the best though.
I've tried a set on my bike but chose the wrong rear (too soft) and it melted away like butter. Got a low priced bargain on a set of Rennsport now, good grip and better wear.
But (big but) if you ride on the road and it rains (it happens over in Europe from time to time), I'll vote for the PP's anytime. I've got PP's on my extra set of wheels. Veeery NIce.
