98 Header On A 97

Can anyone tell me if a 98 900RR stock head pipe will fit my 97 RR?
I called around today but no real answer. Also is the 98 pipe stainless?
Mine is carbon steel (Black) It looks in some pics like the end has a different
bend in it. Thanks WR:confused:

short answer,yes it will fit and yes it is stainless steel!!!

The California models were black and the 49 state models were stainless. The California models also have a little heat shield which I think protects the PAIR valve. I put the 49 state headers on my California model and I think it roasted my PAIR valve. Oh well, now I need to get some block of plates and just remove the piece of crap.

Not sure if they will bolt right up. I think I remember something about the bottom mounting bracket won't line up but I could be wrong.

Thanks a guy has on hanging around and I can pick it up.
He also has a carbon yoshi muffler for $180.00 nice shape.
