hey guys i need to bounce a few things of your collective minds.

my 00 929 has 32,000 miles now and 4th gear is acting up i did install a factory pro shift kit without the evo detent star,a erion racing shift cam assy.,it also has a barnett clutch and the motor was built for endurance racing it runs at about 150hp at the rear.

the issue is that every gear works fine but 4th. it likes to slip out of gear alot but i can get it to stay in sometimes by shifting to 5th then back down to 4th. this is pissing me of as i can no longer run the canyons or track for fear of crashing. i am a honda mechanic but sometimes i need more than one brain to help out. i was thinking it could be a shift fork but why only 4th? the 3rd 4th gear bit is one unit so i would think that 3rd and 4th would have a problem. i have to split the cases to repair the unit if it is the gears but i can repair the forks without spliting cases.

anyone have any thoughts or suggestions on what this might be? any insight is most welcome.:)

thanks for the input
i have just broken down and shelled out about 400 bucks i'm just going to replace both shafts, forks, cam, fork rod,and the gear shift spindle. i figured while i had the thing apart i would also do a new cam chain and oil pump chain.
i'll let everybody know what i find as this might be something others might be concerned about since my 929 only has 33k on it and the tranny went south. it should last longer. right?
