What are you going to do with the cyclinder head? I was hoping to have one laying around so I can port and polish it during my spare time.

turns out i need to give my motor to the wrecker something about a core charge............i just hope i can convince him to let me have my cylinder head back.....a 2,000 dollar flowed head is not something to just "give" to some one.

It might only be $100 or something...

Unless CA came up with some more bizarre red-tape laws. You guys do have it pretty bad out there. Out here, I'd have laughed in his face. You're buying an engine from him. It's not like you need a permit to buy an engine. (Unless CA is weird that way, who knows)

took the bitch for the first ride after install.......well it runs....need to adjust the idle air controll valves and clean it but it feels strong but not as smooth with the unmoded head. at least it is still mobile.:D

Hell if he has to have a complete motor which I doubt since the numbers are stamped on the case just swapped your nice head onto the motor you got running now and give him the stocker.Sorry to hear about your motor troubles but glad you are up and running again.

Who cares, the motor is toast anyways, just put the head back on and give it to him.

What I am saying is take off the stock head and put it on the blown motor with out the head gasket. Wait and order another gasket for your current motor. Yeah, you might have to wait a while and not be able to ride, but you will have your nice head.

I'm gonna have to agree with Calkidd... Why is the price of a head gasket/waiting time making you think of giving up a head with $1200 worth of modifying work? Lordy, just put some gasket maker or bubble gum on it... :D

i am still trying to figure nthis out. i mean even if the state of ca needs the numbers they will never find my motor as the thing was never registered in cali plus were is my paper work for the "new" motor? i can understand the theft thing but why do i have to turn in the whole motor? why not only the cases? anyone have any insight? anyone know the laws?

I am not sure on the laws from state to state but I do know this much from doing repos in Salt lake, you will want to contact the local Sheriff and tak to some one there, The Motors numbers will only be a few numbers different than your Vin number last digits but that only happens on certain bikes and mostly newer bikes, On 600's from 96 or so up are the numbers close I havent found out much on 900's But for all of us honda guys be very careful and use theft deterants.... During my stint re-posesing bikes and working with local law enforcement In the Salt lake area in 1998 and 1999 hondas were the most stolen bikes and also the easiest.... 1998 the Salt lake Vally had 625 hondas stole and in 1999 they had over 700 reported stolen now by my math that is incredible numbers..... and I was one of the lucky ones that only had my stering lock broke I used to keep padlocks on my rotors and over night is got a big padlock around the sprocket and chain..... but I kept my bike for for 9 years with only my Muzzy exaust walking away and my Stering lock bent down.......

This sounds a little fishy to me I would check in to a little bit more. Unless, it is just a core charge.

Try this. Going pretty cheap too.

It scares me to see "stunt" "AS IS" and "No Refunds" all in the same ad. Something tells me this head had the ever living piss ridden out of it.

Something like this I would be more comfortable to see a three day inspection, but $99 for shipping??? Hell no!!!!!
