I am looking to spruce up my suspension on my '93 900rr ... I'm fully stock and my forks feel like they need a rebuild ... so that brings me to ask ...

what performance oriented steps can I take from the limited late model aftermarket for my bike to improve my bikes performance in the handling department related to fork springs, rear shok, brakes ...

I have steel braided lines and need to get my rotors turned and new brake pads ... but would really like to maybe get new fork oil/springs/seals too ..

houston, TX is a sh1tty street festival ... bumpy as hell ... but there are some smooth backroads here and there ...

I would like to upgrade, but not spend crazy money ...

could you guys help me out with some ideas including real parts that are still availabe and where to get them from to improve my spirited street riding performance ...

thanks alot in advance for your help ...

sweet .. thank you ...

so dumb questions following ...

1) should i pick street or race .. in reality ...
2) do these "shock" springs go in my stock rear shock?
3) it gives like 4-6 different options in the same "spring category?" ... which one should I choose and why?
4) can I just order these and expect a Honda Dealership to install them properly?

and 5) any pointers on brakes ? my brakes aren't mushy .. they are just really rough don't feel solid like I would like them to ...

street unless you track it......shock springs might be the fronts, check which setion you are in there is a header at the top of each section, the spring you use is the closest spring to what they tell you it needs ex. 80 gram spring stock you need an 89 but they only make 85 and 90 so you go with the 90.
i would find a good suspension shop most dealers have stupid kids working for them.

brakes....stainless lines and sintered metal pads.

ok .. on the brakes that is what i have .. ss brake lines and sintered H ebc pads .. i guess they just need to be replaced and freshened ...

as for the suspension springs ... this is the page I am looking at ...

http://www.racetech.com/evalving/english/Srchpr.asp?bikeid=159&manufacture=Honda&model=CBR900RR&year=92%2D94&TABLEINFO=street&langname=english

It seems to cover it all there ... front fork springs and rear shock springs ... am I wrong ?

I don't track it, and probably won't ever .. i'd buy a separate trackday bike since I would be afraid of overdoing it too much on the track and dumping her pristine a$$ ... what is the difference really for the layman ?

thanks again for the quick help ...

as for the "suspension shop" ... i dunno .. at least at the honda service shop i can get quick turnaround ... "speed shops" tend to take their sweet a$$ time in my experience ... but I am not speaking from any immediate local shop experience ... hell i just moved here, so any shop i take it to would be a stab in the dark ...

or call racetech and send them your stuff let them rework your suspension and set the rates. if all you do is street rides then all you need is the street springs. do the full thing like gold valves and stuff......do not do the optional fork kit. the bike has to have the frame modified to make this work. (streching and forming ) speed shops take time cause guys like me work there and if it aint perfect it aint right. that takes time.
