94 exhaust on a 99 ?

Tite pretty much asks question.Will a 94 pipe bolt on a 99? Just want to cut it to make a shorty but want to be sure it will bolt up before I purchase it?

The whole exhaust will.

But as for just the pipe: Yes. With a catch. That triangular bolt pattern is the same, but rotated. But you could just take the bike to an exhaust shop, get them to cut the flange, rotate it, then re-weld it. That's what I did when I ended up with an early pipe off ebay and wanted to put it on my '98.

Sure. But if it's aluminum or titanium, are you going to be able to weld it? What kind of welder do you have and how good are you?

The pipe is just steel. That's easy to mig weld.

When I Shorten the pipe I need to take from one end on the other!So i'll take from the inlet end and when I put back together I will rotate the inlet on can to match up with mid and re rivit since I'm makinj it a shorty!Would that work or am I not understanding you correctlly?ohh I didn't mention it is a aftermarket two brothers!!!!!!!!

That ought to work. Only way it wouldn't would be if you had a one-piece muffler like the stock brick.

Yeah, Woodman, what you're thinking should work. When I dissected my carbon fiber exhaust on my 600, I cut it and had to drill new holes, so be sure when you drill the holes you align the exit pipe the way you want it to face. Plus, you could give up a little rotation since it'll probably want to angle outward towards the right?

Is it a round can or an oval one? That also determines whether what Rob's saying will play in...
