I've been looking at a pair of these and have read some good comments on how well they match the RR. Does anyone have direct experience with these tires? Looking for decent sport tires with reasonable life. My riding temp ranges from from 10C to 40C. Thanks. Cam.

PS I'm out of touch. My last Pirelli experience was from the "phantom" days

I am really impressed with these new Bridgestone Battleaxes.
I have BT014's.
I am not an aggressive rider so that has a great deal to do with it.
If you search under Gixerkiller, there was a rating of several tires
in a thread.

+1 to what Dave said. There's a thread on here about it. Pilot Powers came in #1, and I believe the Diablos came in second... But I could be wrong.

Haven't ridden on them, so can't help ya. I can tell you that Pilot Powers are so good I'm going to do the 17" front wheel conversion one day just to have them for my 900RR... Bummer that very few companies are supporting the 16". Are Diablos available in 16"? I may have to try them myself when tire time comes around...

I have ridden on both Diablos and PP's and both are an outstanding tires. However, if I were to chose I would go with the PP's all over again. The PP's are very nice with little warm up time required.

I had the Diablo tires on my 1000RR when I got it....wore them out and went with the Pilot Power and have used them on track day.

Night and day.... the Pilots out perform, IMO, the Diablos. The feel great on the street, last a good long time (burned out the diablos fast) and got plenty-o-bite!

The Diablo carcass is WAY different than the pilot so it comes down to rider choice.

Advice: go with the Pilot Power.

I am running a set of Diablo's on my 93.. IMHO they are great, but with a slightly slower warm-up than others. They offer great grip, are predictable and slide well and grip again soon. I've only had them for 4000kms or so so can't tell you about longevity but are wearing well and I should get another 4k out of them.

Get a set... they are great IMHO.
