Rubanatug Racing to Once Again Assist New Racers

To show our continued support for club racing in the Southwest, and the Arroyo Seco Motorcyclist Association (www.asmaracing.com) roadrace series in particular, Rubanatug Racing (www.rubanatugracing.com) will be offering the following “support package” to THREE new racers, for the race weekend on April 14-15 at the Arroyo Seco Raceway in Deming, New Mexico.

They will cover the following expenses for THREE new racers (not previously licensed in any roadrace series) for round # 2 of the ASMA series:

New Racers License Clinic: $100.00 for ASMA New Racer Licensing Clinic
Gate Pass: Weekend gate fee of $10 for the new racers.
Entry Fee: $40.00 Beginner’s Race entry fee for the new racers.

They will also supply all pit items necessary including food, water, EZ-Up, generator, tire warmers, front and rear stands, fuel, compressor, tools and lawn chairs. We will assist with transporting, or coordinating transportation, for the bikes to and from the track if necessary.

All I gotta say is Arroyo is tons of fun. We ran teh track CCW and the technical section is a blast. Sat I practiced on the 06 DOT Pirelli tires. Sunday I went out on the 07 Pirelli green slicks. OMG do they stick. I need to work on better body position as I ended up draging my foot peg a bit and I have rear sets that are kinda high now. Chewed my boot, and pucks up a bit too. If you have never been to Arroyo check it out. The track fees can hardly be beat as well as the race fees!

I ran, of course the ASMA Beginer race as well as, Superbike Am, and Formula Am. When all was said and done I feel I may have run the race more like a trackday. :( The SuperBike race was a blast and I finally picked it up and really got a chance to dice it up a bit with a kid named Stacey. At the end a few high 5s were exchanged as I and Stacey went down the main straight! Very cool!

The one and only Mr. Chandler and his family were there as well with a new kid on the block who ran INSANE on that track. For sure will see AMA.

It was the first time I had ever been on Arroyo and dropped 15 second from Sat to Sunday! I could go on forever about the weekend. I will be posting a report for the NRSP and will provide a link when I can.

NEWS FLASH!!!!
Looks like my buddy Gary, Monsoon Racing, called me today wants to sponsor me for the CCSSW race this next weekend! WOOOHOOO! Me and my RR are going to have more fun! I'll be out there with some fast peeps but will certainly pick up the pace.
