what year is your CBR 900 RR? Have you ever replaced the springs, or replaced the fork oil? How old are the seals?

the reason I'm asking is that if the springs are old, you might as well get them revalved, reworked, and replaced all at once. The seals are pretty easy to do, but with the forks already apart, you could do the rest all at once. If you want a shop to do it, get it all done at once, it will save you the headache, and some cash. I got racetech springs and revalving done on my last bike, and with parts and labour it came out to about $180.00 canadian. Fork seals would run about another $30-$40.00 tops, so it's benificial to do it all at once.
Little tip too... if you store the bike, or it sits out in the elements for a while, a little bit of grease on the outside of the rubber dust seals keeps them from drying out or cracking. Who knows, this might save you some major hassle later.

yeah.supermotardrider is right,i only can agree with that, ecxcept of the racetech valves,OHLINS rules :D !!!!!.however if you still wanna change the seals by yourself, let me know and i will tell you how,its not a really big deal!just needs some tools technical knowledge and something to lift the bike high enough to get the forks out.if you can change the oil in your wifes car,you can do that too :p

it is not too hard to do your own seals...First thing; you will need a service manual. Although people who have experiance in this fix really doesnt need one, for one who hasnt it will help alot. You can also look at HOW TO (http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/howto/)
Just search in there, it explains step by step on replacing your seal, just remember you really do not need the special tool to replace it, you cna go to your local hardware store and get a PVC pipe that will fit around the fork tube, remember the pipe have to be flat and no sharp ends...
This should work for ya

yeah!in switzerland you are on your own, there are no magazines that tell you how to do anything on your bike!however,i guess the how to's here do not solve all problems but most of them, and if there are still problems,we are the ones to help out ;) (i like to do it though, cause you always learn more about it)
