Just arrived on your site.

Im the proud owner of a new CBR 1000RR.
Only had it a week or so and am very impressed.

Previously owned a ZX10R & GSXR1000 and enjoyed both, but have finally found a bike I am totally comfortable with.

Any other 1000RR owners got any advise or opinions I would be happy to receive them.

Terry. :)

How do you like your 1000RR compared to the ZX10? Be honest we won't flame you.......to bad. ;)

Welcome to the boards, i'm curious as well. Since you've ridden all 3 1000cc's. What are the noticable differences between the 3?

Hi all,
you asked what i thought of the 3x1000Lrt bikes ive had, well here goes

ZX10R (for me the bad points) very hard on the rear, bangs your filling's out, and makes the bike very nervous which for me loose's me confidence in throwing the bike around,
this bike also badly needs a steering damper (more money) and i didn't like the rev counter around the speedo, cant see it very well in sun light,
the gears were very clunky and sticky and on some occasions even jammed and when you are throwing it about into rounabouts & corners the last thing you need is jaming or sticky gears, ( very frightening) on these bikes,
and its got shit mirror's cant see a thing behind you

Now the good points.....
very very fast, great styling, sounds the nuts with that induction sound at around the 7000-8000 rev range, and with an (akraprovic fitted) exhaust sounds great, i love the slipper clutch, this is the nuts a must for any bike,
the breaks are red hot and stop on a sixpence and thats about it for the ZX10R......

NOW FOR THE SUZUKI GSXR1000.
bad points....
mine was the 2004 model, so one of the last of this model and it shows with its styling big and bulky the tanks big along with the front end, (K5 model is a lot smallar at the front)
no slipper clutch and if you are going at it into a roundabout the backs all over the place snakeing, thats the only bad points i could find.

good points....
still very very fast, still looks a nice bike (but i got the rizla livery fitted to make it not just like another suzuki) sorry guys and girls but just too many blues/whites out there.
handles really really well ive had some great fun on this, for a big bike i have thrown it around with total confidence (unlike the zx10r) the gears are really smooth and again fill you with confidence when you need it,
the steering is really nice and quick and it has a steering damper fitted as standard (unlike the zx10r) the clocks are nice and easy to see and read,
the suspension is first class just the right amount of damping at the rear
to give comfort as well as bike control and the front feels good as well,
this is a very very nice bike, and to be honest i would have still kept it had they not brought out the new K5 next month only to watch the K4 price drop like a dead bird, so i decided to get out while i got offered a good deal against the honda cbr1000rr........

Honda CBR1000RR,
Well first reports are very good, holds the road really well, i would say the best out of the 3x bikes feels like you can throw it about, and it gives you confidence, breaks are very very good, speed wise its a little down, but not much, styling is great, and to be fair i had a test ride on a Yamaha R1 and it was a tight call as to which one i chose, but the Honda for me was the best...

what models have you guys got, and what doy ou think of them ?

I have a 01 929. Since this is my first bike I really have nothing to compare it to. But all in all I love this bike.

Hello and welcome..
First big bike was a CBR600F 1993. Great bike, comfortable for long ridings (I like to take the road and stop when my butt is square :D ). Great riding position.
No problem at all with engine, Rode it for 64.000 km and no clutch or gearbox problems (I do not do whellies, stoppies or burntouts, I just like to do twisties and road)
I enjoyed a lot.
Then in 1997 I purchased a CBR900RRV. Difference is the riding position (more racing oriented) and more power. Both are really confident when cornering.
Brakes are good. I have found that the color scheme (yellow europe) is what seems to call a great attention from other drivers.
I like this bike alot, and it has only 22.000 km. Really new and in good shape.

Take care.

I am on an 02 954 with 20000 miles. This is my 3rd owned bike but I have been behind the bars of a few bikes. My first bike was a use Harley Davidson Sportster, it was a kick start and measured as a 3 on the Richter scale. My second bike was an F3 I got off a friend of mine. I bought the 954 new off a dealer two weeks after seeing one on the floor, and have never had second thoughts. I like the 1000RR having been on my friends many times, but it seems to me that the 954 is the much smaller and lighter of the two. Anyway the 1000RR is definitly a fun machine :D
