JDMdc2,
I know that 1993 to 1996 are the same sub frame so the tail plastics from 93 to 96 will fit on 93. However I am not sure if it was 1997 or 1998 that the mounting lugs on the sub frame were shifted up to accomodate the new tail. I know for a fact that 1998-99 parts will not fit on 93 without modifying the subframe. If you want to use 98 - 99 tail plastics you can always swap out the sub frame. The subframe mounting holes are the same on 93-99.
PM or email me the list of parts you need. I have several tail plastics finished and unfinished for 93-99. Send me a list and I will get back to you with pics and price.

if iam totally wrong dont flame on me please thanksDon't worry about that here. I know the majority of the forums out there are like that, but we here are a little more compassionate.
Like the ole saying goes: There is no such thing as a stupid question, but there can be a stupid answer.

I know the upper fairings on the 98-99 are different. You can make them fit, a friend put a my old 98 plastic on his 96 machine. He had adjust the front fairing bolt (the one right on front above the headlight) and adjust the fairing stay as the mirror holes are not the same width on the 98-99 (the only years different)

FYI
The 95 subframe is totally different from ALL years.
The 98-99 Plastics will fit, but you have to have the 98-99 tail light and bracket
The mounting holes on the subframe are the same, HOWEVER, the subframe will not set right, Ask Sime, he had a 98-99 sub fabbed for his 95 which I have and I have to say I see a diff from my 95 and his 98...

93-96 subframes are not the same. The design of the main frame was changed in 1996, so they had to change the design of the subframe too.
As Archer mentioned, putting a 98 subframe on a 95 or earlier bike will make the subframe sit so low that the rear fender will rub on the tire. I had to cut the gussets out of the top tubes of the subframe, and then cut back about 2.5" of tube and have the gussets rewelded in place. The reason is that the lower mounting points for the rear fairing are actually higher on the 98-99 than for earlier years. You can 'stretch' the 98-99 fairings to fit the 95 and earlier subframes, but you'll put stress on the mounting points and it won't look right.
The 98-99 upper fairing is completely different in shape to the 93 as well (and all earlier than 98 years). With a 93, you have a mechanical gauge cluster. You will have clearance issues trying to use the 93 fairing support. I actually went with a complete 1998-99 wiring loom, gauges and fairing stay.
I'm sure that there are some short cuts to getting all this to work, but I wanted to do it the correct (and more expensive!!!) way. My bike should be back and running within a couple of weeks, so I will post pics when completed.
Cheers,
