was custom painted brilliant gloss black, but now I am going with a Fusion Orange Metallic... with Carbon Fiber Decals under clearcoat. uh huh GMC BABY!
95 893 900RR motor, has had engine work done to it, but With lack of communication from seller, I have no idea what was done to it. All I know is that I have ridden a friends 98 900 and compaired to his, mine is scary fast. He agrees.
Still have the Stock sprockets with 530 chain. No need for wheelie sprockets
190 Dunlop rear. I want to upgrade to a 98-99 rear so I can Custom make a understray with some extra goodies. so if anyone has a Right rear plastic I can have. shoot me a PM. I have done SO much more to this bike than I expected! ugh way over my head, I can not wait till bike season in Ohio Starts. I am so all over this project. Funny how they always get out of hand. I had to get a part time job just so I can pay for the extra shit I wanted to do to this bike. Thank God I powder coat, or I would already be BROKE! lol
Sharp bike, cant wait to get the painting done.
I'll have pics posted once I get it done.

oh and Brent man i opened that link and damn near went blind, that is a bright ass yellow or maybe my screen color needs adjusted. :D
Archer you said you were a powdercoater? Where you at? the powdercoater in this area blows ass, my wrinkle black on my sportster frame/swingarm turned out looking like crap and he wouldn't redo it with out charging me even more then what i payed the first time.

I'm located in Ohio. I have the Black Mini Texture on my frame and sub frame. Its cool because far away it looks smooth, close up you can see the texture but when you feel it, its nice and smooth! so basically go to your Yamaha dealer and see the R6 and R1 frames. Same deal. My warranty is if I dont like it, I dont ship it, I tell ya, I redo it. If I wouldnt have it on my bike, I wouldnt ship it out. If you dont like it and its the same color, send it back, and all ya pay is shipping, you want a diff color because you didnt like the color ya picked, I charge ya stripping, and powder cost. thats it because the hard prep work was already done and I know how it was done. I had a website, but Im about to close shop. just not getting the business as I used to anymore. The Chopper shop I had an account with burnt to the freaking ground. Yeah just my luck. Guy took insurance money and retired. UGH  But I still do it on the side and what not. Nice bike money.

Yeah, I still do it on the side. I have people popping out of the shadows here and there from word of mouth.
I really dont have any more pictures, it pretty much went down with the site. Mostly car parts. The bike parts I do go out so fast, I havent had a chance to get a camera and get a picture of them. But I still have my bike.
Well dude, I give pretty good prices, I try not to rob anyone. Im a human too, so I have to have money to live. cant throw it all out on the little things ya know. Pretty much pisses the other coaters off because I SOOOOOOO underbid them. lol
With the whole services, I pretty much just want to make it a here and there thing. I cant deal with the mass amount of parts I get in all the time, the summer heat and what nots. But I still powder coat when I get things from people. So I still do it, so if you want things done, just let me know. im pretty fair on the prices.

I was wondering if you can powder coat aluminum or do you have to do something special to it? Because you can't magnitize aluminum or can you.

You can Powder coat ANYTHING thats metal... Yeah alum. is not magnetic, but its done with static electricity, about 10,000volts worth, that will make rubber a big piece of copper wire... lol
and I live in North west ohio.. sure, this riding season coming up we can ride. if you are close to Toledo, we can ride with TSBR... you can meet some of these guys at

Here are a few pics of my 900RR. Sorry for the size. I don't have any way to resize them. It's a 95 with 97 plastics on it. It has a full vance & hines exhaust, carbon fiber turn signals and a few small dress up items. Not to mention the polished frame.
And here is a pic of my 98 cbr600F3. It will eventually be a track bike, but i'm going to use it to teach my girlfriend to ride first off. It used to be a stunt bike, thats why it's furred out. I have all the stock plastics to make it stock looking again.

we like sportsbike power/handling etc but yearn for the good old days of superbike looks/racing ;)
we also get bored with the long hot winters we get :D
personally i just like to have a bike that is individual and needs working on.
i like to try and mix and match bike parts that catch my eye.
perhaps it could be an offshoot from choppers etc that dont really lend themselves to the faster engines
throdgrain
December 9th, 2004, 12:26 PM
Definately an off-shoot. I had customs and chops first, back in the very early eighties, then went to streefighters around 1991 ish.

I have a 1997 CBR900RR, red, with 95,000 miles on it. You read that right.
It has never required a shim change. I've done all the work on it since I got it at just under 9K.
I've added a 17" F3 wheel, Braking Rotors, steel overbraided lines to the front, a full system Akropovic Ti sport system and a K&N filter. It still has the OEM clutch. I changed the rear shock out to an Ohlins, but the front is stock. I like it that way. It is now a dedicated track only bike, wearing Metzeler Rennsport RS1, and RS2 race rubber.
This is from Streets of Willow, Willow Springs, CA. (first pic)
And this from Pahrump, NV this fall: (second pic)
Since I got a BMW GS Adventure, I have not ridden the Blade other than one trackday weekend for about 375 miles.

January 7th, 2005, 02:54 PM
Commuting almost 80 miles a day just for work seems to pile the miles up quickly. I will never be able to afford to live closer to work. At least as long as I work here in the cube farm.
The most direct route is 28 miles and the fastest, (toll road) is 37 each way. So I compromise. In the morning I ride the short way, since traffic is lighter, (If that can be said of OC traffic and the idiots that sit in cages here), and at night I slog home over the toll road. I have a transponder so all legal and everything. I don't mind paying for the convience.
I've done the same commute on surface streeets and the freeways and it twakes hours longer than the toll road. One night it took me nearly four hours to wind my way between cars crashes and debris on the road to home.
What is it with people that they feel the overriding need to carry crap on the outside of their cages, but not so much so as to secure it?
Unlike Rany Newman, I don't so much love LA, as tolerate it just as the thorn in my side as a result of there being such a wonderful riding season.

Seriously if you like to ride fast. The track is the place. No dogs, cops or on coming traffic.

The Twin pipes were made by Arrow, I got them from the UK distributer B&C Express (they were the last set they had so I got them cheap). I think Arrow stopped making them after the blade changed in 2000. But you never know, your local supplier may have a set kicking about. I think they were called "Superbike Twin High Level System" or something like that. They sound great too :-)

Why is it this the second street fighter with a TL1000 front end. What is the benifits to this?
The benifit was the bike was a front end wreck with no usable parts. I had the TL front end laying in my garage so I made it work. It did steepn the rake to 23 degrees, It has .95 lb/in springs stock, 17" wheel with 6 pot calipers and 320mm rotors. Plus it looks better :D BTW, this is NOT a bolt in application. The poor mans way out is machine out the top bearing race of the neck. The better route is get new clamps made.

Eric,
Nice job man. I dig it. Quick question. Is the RC51 rear a 5.5 or 6 inch wheel? And about how much did you have to machine off the axle mount?

Hey Scrapyard:
Yes, the rear is a 6 inch. Also, the axle is larger. The swingarm had to be milled by a machine shop to fit the larger axle (20mm to 25mm). That's about 2.5mm radius of material. Also, the RC51 end spacers have to be slightly milled to fit the slot. But to fit the larger rim, I simply grinded and sanded off about 12-13mm (1/2") from the rear brake caliper bracket (if memory serves me). The bracket also serves as a spacer. So, from a rear view, the rim is moved to the right, not to the left. It's still not centered exactly, but it's not noticeable. The center is offset about half of the 12mm (1/2" wider) or 6-7mm.
Thanks for the comments! It's really light now and with the extra power, it will do no-clutch 2nd gear wheelies (low ones, though). 1st gear is crazy - sometimes just spinning the rear tire! So much fun! :D

funny you should ask, I was riding about a month ago and the screw that holds the end cap on must have come loose, the end cap came off then the sleeve came off. I tried to back track but could not find any of the parts as I had ridden about 25 miles. I never even noticed that it was gone until I stoped...............I tried to find just the parts, Micron offered to sell the parts but it was too much $$ for just the parts. It does look cool and Micron has even posted pics on their web site of the bike......The D & D is gonna look cool when i get it painted.............and I have a couple of friends that love theirs. When I do my engine mod I may go with a full Micron serpent system with a "burnt" Titanium can.

It is just one of those things.........gotta laugh cause bitchin' don't get it fixed! I am anxious to get the D & D on and see how it sounds. I took off the remainder of my micron and started it up.....sound like a freakin mini nascar!......not to worry I would never ride it like that...........cant ride right now anyway with my back tire down to the cords!!!!!! my new Pirellis will be here friday!!!!! maybe it wont be raining!

Hi folks, I have a 94/95 blade. Bought it 3 months ago on e-bay. Stolen recovered in 2000, looks like it's been used as a moto-cross since then. :(. Anyway figured it was time to do a streetfighter project so this is it - my first. Doing it all in a 6' by 8 shed in the winter,... ya gotta love it.!!. Well, first off is the 16" wheel, gave me the willies  . New head bearings...er ...interesting to do with a screwdriver and a socket extension. Just picked up the wheels fro the polishers- look the dogs crongles- gonna do the frame myself.....I heard the intake of breath from here. So it's all in strip mode at the mo', got the paint to pick and possibly a swap on rear plastics, then there's hoses , pads, tyres,lights...mortgage...body organ....hangin' on street corners.......etc etc. Well it's either this or talk to the missus..what are ya' gonna do .

Your D&D compared to your Micron will be night a day. I believe the D&D will have a more "teney" sound and will definately be louder. D&D is probably one of the loudest pipes out there.

D&D is either a love or hate relationship, I have never found anyone you sat in the middle. It really does come down to taste, your micron had a race bike sound (seeing as that is what it was designed for), D&D is just loud. If you like LOUD than you will love D&D.

OK! I have my D & D installed...........I had to put the stock pipes back on.........(long story) BUT it sounds very cool. I am not sure wht opposing ment by "tinney" but mine had a "deep throaty" sound.......ahem no pun intended. My micron had a much "higher" exhaust note to it........it sound really cool. My neighbor has a 1000rr with a full Arkapovic and they are really close in their exhaust notes......he likes the sound of mine now better than the micron.......but I like them both.............when I do my engine mods I will have to decide what i wanna go with!

I was the one who said it would be Tnney. I guess I was wrong.....but all of the D&D's I have heard they have sounded that way.
Enlighten us as to why you had to remove it.
Dice
February 27th, 2005, 07:32 AM
I had to remove the Micron because the end cap and the canister cover fell off. I got a really good deal on a D & D bolt on.......but my system was a slip on. I found a "doner" stock exhaust. I was going to just use the end flange that I needed and weld it to my slip on mid pipe to turn it into a slip-bolt on, but the stock exhaust was in very good shape so I just decided to use it with the D & D. When I do my engine rebuild at the end of the year I will go with a "matched" full system. The "aftermarket" exhaust I removed seemed to me to be kinda "cheep" the pipes were very thin, though it does have a nice polished ceramic coating.......I dont know what they are because they were on the bike when I purchased it.
Sry about the confusion on who said what not like I can't read or anything....LOL.
Like I said my neighbor has a Arkapovic full titanuim and it sound very good....has anyone heard anything about the Micron serpent pipes? I would be very intersted in some real world info......not advertising!
As to the sound, perhaps the D & D that you have heard are diffrent model? I dont know but it sound fine for now.......it will get me through the riding season..............

Honda makes some nice header pipes indeed. The ones I got from Mike (still owe him for them too) are the nice and shinny non-California headers. When I was shopping around back in the late 90's for a pipe for my RR, I was told by Micron, Erion and Two Brothers to simply go with a slip on because the Honda pipes are already a great system. So I just bolted on a Micron and never looked back. :)

THis I took note of when I recieved the "used" ones I just got. I like the size of the mid pipe that finishes into the canister. THe aftermarket one that was on my bike were larger in dia. at the engine than stock but they stayed pretty much the same size till the canister, maybe it increased a little but nt as much as the stock........dont know that it has alot of effect.

Some stunning bikes, but Eric Yuzon's is the most stunning-sort of reminiscent of a picture I saw of the original NR750 endurance racer with its fairing off (not the road bikeor GP bike) that was in a few magazines in the late 80's.
It just looks fit . No gimmicks or "tarts handbag" accessories.
Don't get me wrong. the other bikes look amazing too! (but the ones with D+D pipes probably don't sound amazing  ).
Well Done Sir.

Hey Panda, thanks for the applause! I was surprised too how it all came together. I visualized it first with the basic components I wanted. You don't really know how a bike will look until you do take the plunge and start wrenching. I get the most comments for the RC51 tail. Unfortunately, it was not structurally sound. So, off it came. It eventually shook all the lights off. I need to re-engineer it. For now, it will get a late (98-99) red tail to complement the black & red tank. Also, I kinda miss the cool trunk. Mostly, I like the whole front end (929/954) with the 919 headlight. It looks better to me as a streetfighter. Last year, I took it to Deals Gap! Boy, this thing was made for that place. Very tossable and lightweight! The latest mod was a set of adjustable clip-ons from Scary Fast Racing. I raised it up and out about an inch for more comfort since I use it for traveling as well.
Good job to snakezrx for the Monster Honda! I like how the seat and tailcowl really match up. Nice!

Yes, steep! But, clip-ons play a major part in ergonomics. Doing 300 mile plus rides and the wrists are just crying out! If you think those are pricey, try out other adjustable bars. TBR's are about another $100 or so. The other adjustables (can't remember their names) don't look as trick as the SF bars. I adjusted mine up an inch and out an inch for more leverage. That's the limit on the bars range and the length of the SS brake lines. Oh, also, these are rubber damped. At first, it feels weird with the extra play, but it becomes comfortable after long rides.

Here is a link to my 1995 CBR900RR.
http://cts.theallureimage.com/Rides/mike_ride.htm
MODS include:
Scotts steering Damper with custom made mount
New Factory clutch with Barnet springs
Factory Pro shift kit for smooth shifting ( eliminated the "false neutral" nag these early 900s had)
Dynojet Stage one jet kit
Custom fabricated Hi mount style SS exhaust (Polished) with Hindle Carbon Oval "Stealth" canister. This thing sounds awesome
Complete Hyperpro Suspension system with progressive coil springs... A must on any sport bike.
Goodridge SS braided front and rear brake lines
Custom Fabricated polished SS heal guards
New Battalax tires ( 500 miles on them from break in ) w gold tire lettering
Customized dash including a custom fabricated carbon surround that houses an Accumen gear indicator and a datatools rev light kit. Both professionally installed and a momentary switch was installed in the console in order to configure the rev lights on the move.
Bike has lots of carbon including... Gauge cover, Custom triple cover that exposes the Honda wing logo, Master Cyl cap, Mirrors and Levers.
Tons of Chrome and custom Neon powder coated accents throughout the bike.
Some of the other extras include.... Second look tank and seat skins. Gold bike bolt kit. Air Tech undertail w/ custom LEDs. Custom painted body vent screens. Custom headlight cover, 530 DID Xring gold chain and new sprockets.
Custom LED blinkers flush mounted in the rear tail above the screens and in the front iridium covers I have mounted LEDS as well. The bike has a tail integrator kit so that when the turn signal is on the LEDS on that side as well as half of the brake light blink. Looks pretty cool.
Bike also has a combination of Neon and custom made Purple LEDS that light this thing up at night. Massive purple blur going down the road at night.
I have also built in a headlight cutoff switch for showing off the neons and a hidden momentary switch that can be rigged to your garage door opener.

I have wanted to do that to my bars ever since I saw Jorg Teukert (German FIM Supersport racer, sorry for the SP) But he has his bars swung out a bit. I have always had a lot of pressure on the outside of my palms and figured if I swung them outward a bit would even have pressure on my palms. Are they easy to adjust?
