so okay those of you may remember me looking for an engine a couple of months ago got that handled and bike has been riding good now that it has a new bullet in it ended up finding a theft recovery that not much was left but the frame and the engine and was able to get clean paper work on it.
now onto the next issue last night rode bike a bout 40 miles parked it noticed high picthed whistle coming from bike when it was parked but by the time I realized it was my bike making the noise it was gone. okay three hours later go out of friends house battery very low no crank, jump started bike good check charging good 15 volts, get ready to leave low beam headlight blows, okay....switch on high beam works then blows.....check fuses all okay both headlights are blown out the philiments are broken wierd.. thought maybe it was over charging but according to the trouble tree it checked okay..
as a side note the bike will not start at all with the kick stand down in neutral and clutch in it has to be up to crank at all since this happened it now is working correctly
any ideas???

I'd say 15v is too high, was that at idle or with some revs on? if it was at idle then its defo too high, if it is over charging an you heard the whistle i'd be looking at the battery as its probably got hot an spat its dummy out now! ;DOH hope this helps.

+1 on that.
Battery is overcharged and probably cooked, thats the whilsle you could hear.
Probably a Regulator/Recitfier problem, but could be the stator too because... you say you've changed the motor, it would have an unknown condition of stator since its new to you.
Strange that the bulbs blew and not the fuses though.
Almost like the battery is round the wrong way, but thats not possible.
Try bump starting it if you need to run it, (in gear, run, clutch out, she fires, clutch in.)
But personnaly i wouldn't as you dont want to further damage the electrics.

Weird about the kickstand, but luckily that doesn't hurt anything... In the grand scheme of things, anyway...

First off. The battery is possibly fried! Possibly! Your starting issue with the kickstand down is this.....Your clutch safety switch is faulty along with your sidestand switch. If the bike will crank with the kickstand up, and the bike in neutral and clutch lever RELEASED, then it is the kickstand switch. If the bike will not start without the clutch squeezed and the kickstand up then it is the neutral/clutch safety switch that makes the bike think the bike is in gear and the clutch isn't squeezed.
Other than that, I cannot help ya man without being there.
Hope this helps.

yeah battery is fried did voltage checks and the rectifier is fried as well putting out 16-18 volts at idle. the kickstand thing is strange and i will have to look at those two things since it will not crank unless the kick stand is up and the clutch lever is pulled in whether it is in neutral or not, the clutch must be pulled in so i will have to look at that switch as well thanks for the input...

checked the continuity of the inputs side stand and clutch switch both ohmed and voltage dropped good followed wiring and trouble tree found starter relay connector and relay are melted down inside the connection probably the reason why it works right sometimes..
does any one have the factory part # of the rectifier so that when i go to get one i know its the right one this bike obviously has the wrong one on it now that i have it apart and was testing it it is way too big for the two mounting pegs and has three wires that are not attached to any thing gonna go to cycle salvage and get the right one and some new connectors and pins to repair a few things funny they offer a 6 month warranty on thier used factory modules but thier brand new aftermarket ones only get seven days...

The kick-stand issue might be evidence of your neutral switch sticking. Try cleaning that up to free its movement.
