Just kidding about the pipe, I got a full Micron race system that came with the ZX-9 i have. I got a stock exhaust system just in case i needed it for nothing off the net. Who knows when you might need something like that? :)

It is just one of those things you don't pay attention to.

Might just be a Michigan thing, but your bike only has to meet sound regulations for the first year after it is purchased. I even believe it is stated somewhere in the owners manual. But like you said Calkidd it is one of those things you don't pay attention to.

Can't be any worse than the harleys we have riding around here..... I have dual carbon Racing kerkers on my ZX-6 bike. I used to kick it down a gear to up the RPM's when i passed the local fuzz...(totally uncalled for, I know) I always made sure I was going the speed limit when doing so of course. Well anyway they shouldn't have gave me that ticket for going 55 on the abandoned mill road that night and I wouldn't have done it. I'm sure they were really really amused........... :D

I know some friends on Harleys that got pulled over and cited for loud pipes. They went down to CHP headquarters and asked them where they can have their pipes tested. They had no clue, but called around to find out. Seems there is nothing setup to test these things so they threw out the citations.
