Default Reverse shift pattern

I was curious, do you guys who have reversed the pattern do this for track use or simply because it makes your bike different from the norm? I have thought about doing it, but I have been ridding with the niormal pattern for so long I figure I would screw myself up when I change it.

It will screw you up. I installed one and hated it, under circumstances where I had to do a quick downshift I found myself up shifting. Very frustrating.

once you get use to it you will love it. changing gears while in the air is much simpler. also, if your leaned over in a curve you can just tap the shifter to hit your next gear instead of having to wrap your foot up underneath the shifter to shift. its the only way to ride in my opinion.

Isn't it common knowlege you don't shift in a turn? Select the gear you want to be in before the turn then shift once your out of it.

Thumbs up Re: Reverse shift pattern

Works great for me, though this is how it came when i bought the engine oh and this is the first bike i ever road, so i learned with the reverse gears must be why noone wants to loan me their bike. I'd always be in the wrong gear. Does anyone know, or can explain how to put it back to normal? hopefully it doesn't involve splitting the damn case.

cal. if your into the turn at say 10000 rpms and hit the apex and get on the gas what r u gonna do? hit the revlimiter? i wouldnt. i change gears. i guess most of the professional racers ride that way just so they can be different. the best racers in the world use what shift pattern? maybe if you get into the corner at 6k it doesnt mean much but if your really in it its more practical to use reverse shifting. especially if your short and cant get your toes under the shifter while hanging off the bike.

once again its a personal thing people, some it works for some it don't personally i have seen 3 tracks in my whole riding lifetime and i am almost 24. I have very lil use for alot of the track trickery, hence the reason my blade is mostly stock in engine parts.

Okay, first off, I do not nor do I claim to have any experience in track riding or racing. I was merely making a statement, which I believe, that when STREET RIDING you should be in the gear you want to be in before the turn.

Tell me this, what gear are YOU in at 10,000 rpms in a corner? 1st gear at that rpm would be about 70-80 mph. I can't imaging taking a corner anywhere on the street at that speed.

Why are you trying to be sarcastic? Did I mention anything about riding on a track or how professional riders should shift? Look at your basic riding booklet from your local DMV. I am sure you will find it saying something similar to what I have said.

Are you trying to teach me something here?

Are you attempting to attack my riding skills, especially when you don't even know me or how I ride? I know when I go for a ride I enjoying myself regardless how hard I ride. I am really in to it every time I get on my bike.

Like I said, my personal experience with reverse shifting was that I didn't like it. I didn't say no body should have it.

Like I said I was referring to street riding, not racing.

I am sorry Blademan, I didn't mean to Highjack your thread.

not meaning to be sarcastic by any means. were all red riders here. like i said if your taking the curves alot slower than they are able to be taken then it does come down to preference. please dont get upset from what i have posted because i dont mean to come across as being an ass. hell, i didnt pay for your bike so ride it like YOU want. just giving my opinion.

I hate mine!! This new Honda Electronic Shit Dampening device drives me bonkers. Really quick left-right-left turns are more a PITA now.

On my old 929 I'd just flick it through real quick. Of course I had 180's on the 929...

Now we can get started on 180 vs. 190's!!

lol, to truely love you must truely hate, or something, as for the 180 190 what the hell is with huge tires right now, a 200 is as big as any bike should be, and I heard that there was a guy coming to this rally with a 380 no not a 280 a 380, oh fucked up is that
