Hi all
I have my new toy now and love it! But the left head light only works for dim and does not go bright when brights are selected but it does stay on, and the right side only works for bright its not lit up at all in normal low beam. I replaced the right head light but this made no change. Is this a normal condition? or do I need to take this puppy back to the shop?

normal....
Take some super glue and squirt it all in and around the hi/lo selector switch... once sufficiently filled and won't take anymore, flip to high position and walk away..... problem solved |

I am not used to the "new" headlight operations. But I thought the new bikes were like the first gen F4I when it came to headlights. The one side is an H4 and the other is the H3. When on low beam only one is on, but when selected high beam both are on???
I thought that is how the new ones are also, I am probably wrong. Now if you want to "pimp" out your "ride". Find an old bikes headlight plugs or two H4 headlight plugs from a Civic. If you figure out the wires between the two lights that are on your bike. And wire them to the factory style H4 plugs, meaning the low beam positive wire to both plugs and the high beam positive wire to the plugs in the correct location. You could in sense run dual H4 headlights as long as you modify the headlight to accept the H4 bulbs. This is an idearhea I have had for a few years since they went to the single low beam on a dual headlight bike. And I will try it once I can get a new bike. Have fun.

How you do that? Is there a kit for it?

Which one are you talking about, the low beam being on with the high beam?
If that is the one you would like to do, all you need is to get a relay and wire it in the proper fashion. You know, (this is on the relay of coarse) you have one wire that is constant positive, one wire that is constant negative. Then you have the "other" power wire "in" connected to the positive wire on the high beam. Then the "other" power wire "out" connected to the positive wire on the low beam. Then the last spot is a ground if I remember right. So when you turn the highbeam on the power from the wire goes to the bulb and into the relay. Gets a "jump" of power from the battery so it is full 12v and then out the relay to the positive wire on the lowbeam. When you have the lowbeam on the 12v from the lowbeam doesn't travel thru the relay do to it being a relay and power only going one direction thru it. They make kits for the Chevy Silverado. You know how the truck itself has two lowbeam and then two different highbeam headlights. I attached pic. The blue circle is the low beam headlight and the red one is the high beam headlight. Now on a stock truck you turn the high beams on. The low beams MUST shut off to be legal. With the kit that I have, all four lights on my truck come on and stay on untill I turn off the high beams. Same principle just on a bike. Hope this helps. If you are interested I will try and find the relay kit you would need to make this work, and post the link. I think it is called a "Hi 4" kit. Laters.

can't remember what web site had the conversion info but it was something about going to a honda car dealer and ordering a couple of honda civic headlight plugs and the relay and splicing in the yellow wires to the switch power which would mean h4 conversion i think.

So many times I would pull into a gas station or parking lot with my buddy (600RR) and someone would tell him that one of his headlights had burnt out.
