Default AZ Guys- Bike Expo SUNDAY

Anyone want to go? My friend and MMI student Austin wants to go, and I just want to see the new R1.

Meet up or not, I don't care. But I thought I'd try to be social.

No idea on details like where it's at. But looking on the internet will probably tell you.

We'll be in Tucson Friday night and Saturday, and back in time for the show on Sunday at some point. Our plans are loosey goosey at best.

AZ, are you talking about the international motorcycle show?

If I remember correctly it is over in AZ sometime in November

before it comes to Long Beach on the first week-end in December.

I"m planning on going.

Anyone else in So Cal?

Sunday I'm busy most the day. Morning band performance, lunch-afternoon is my dad's birthday thing.

Sorry. Otherwise, I'd be down for it for sure. Maybe if it's later or something.

Waste of money.

Yellow R1 out. White R1 in. The stickers on the R1s look terrible. Rather than nice and clear, they're (poorly) color matched to the bike. And it's obvious. They look fine on the blue and on the white, but I'd rather blind children with parkinson's draw the flames on the yellow one with crayons.

The white is a pearl and it's downright sexy. Wow.

No 'foters?

So nothing there was worthwhile, R1s excluded?

The 1000RR looks a LOT better in person than it did in the pictures I had seen of it.

Same goes with the Kawi ZX10R. The headlights on the 10R look somewhat myopic until you stand the bike up and look at it from 5ft or further. Then it looks just fine, and somewhat attractive.

The Gixxers look terrible. Each model. Hideous. Simple as that.

And then there's the R1. It's hot. And the exhaust would be ridiculously easy to solve. The design of it and location of the flanges/clamps are perfect. Invert the shift pattern, pull the exhaust, mirrors, reflectors, indicators, swap to a black seat, and a 60 shot, and the bike is done.

It comes down to the R1 and the RR. The R1 wins because of the simplicity of the mods I just listed. The RR's shift pattern doesn't look to be easily reversible, the exhaust is too crucial to the bike's design, the trunk probably won't fit a bottle of any decent size, and the footpegs feel too far forward and aren't adjustable (the R1 feels right and is adjustable).

And the R1 is pearl white. Just perfect.

No pictures of the Suzukis because that'd just be too cruel of me to show you pictures of that hideousness. I'd rather look at pictures of aborted fetuseseses.

Hmmmm... I'm not on board with the front of the R1 just yet. Reminds me of a funny photo, I'll find it and post it in a few...

And the ass end of the R1 is pretty fugly. But it is way better looking than the 1000RR. I still can't fathom how the Suzukis could look worse.
