2 Wheel drive yamaha R1 !

I don't know if you guy's ever heard of this project 2 wheel drive yamaha R1.

It was an Ohlins & Yamaha project back in 2001.
Which has been kept tucked away, the technology is still being worked on, but with the lack of manufacturer support, it hasn't been implemented to road bikes yet.
However patents were made in 2006 of the system.

The video shows how it works. I can upload some pics later too if your interested.

They want this technology to be up there with rider safety aids, such as traction control and ABS.
I think its great, what do you guy's think?

That's pretty wicked! (I like where the camera scrapes on the ground around 4:29 :EG) My brain doesn't want to accept it... But that's a breakthough idea... Using hydraulic fluid to propel the front wheel. Crazy.

I think it has possibilities, but the use of a hydraulic pump and motor means that there is a big hit on the RW HP and that the front wheel is not controlled. Notice that there was no comment from the MCN tester.

Apparently it has a 2.5% drain on the power at 100mph ;)

Its not without flaws i guess, but pretty inventive.
