Ok, guys, what 's up for Sat or Sun?
Is there a place in side that we can get together or do we want this much
insanity in one place at one time?
Times to meet at this place might be helpful too![]()

Hell, how about this, we will just walk around aimlessly and go up to everyone we see going "Hi Dave, I'm Chris" or vise versus.I don't know man, just give me a call. In between races of coarse.
But I will say this. WE USUALLY sit in the same bleachers every year to watch the races. They are real easy to find. Once you go under the track and are in the infield parking area. Walk into the venue, then you will see the pit entrance dirrectly in front of you (the one you could drive a car into) If you look exactly left you will see a bridge over the track. DO NOT TAKE THIS BRIDGE, but walk towards it, once infront of the bridge, turn exactly right and follow the fence line till you come to the bleachers. WE should be in those.
IF not we are in the "High Flutin" guest suites sittin with the Suzuki guys??? (I happen to know Terri Knot, he is the HEAD sales dealer for the southwest region. So he hooks us up!!!)
Last year I got to meet the producers of "Faster", Kevin Schwants, and the Vice President of American Suzuki!!! PLUS free food, drinks and a place to keep our gear while we walked around!!! HOW COOL IS THAT!!!!!![]()

Cool, I especially like wandering around aimlessly saying Hi Chris to the espeically good looking girls!![]()
Cool, I'll come looking.
I have usually gone to the infield to that first turn down off the banking.![]()
Hey bikerdave... Um. Cough. Any chance of hooking a brother up with a couch for a night? And/or would you be interested in splitting a motel room in Fontana? Speedextreme's already packed his room, and I can't seem to find someone out here to go and split the room cost with me...Originally Posted by bikerdave
Chris, I think I'm gonna meet you in Indio. Don't let your woman talk you into ditching me. I'll cry. I will.Which means I'll have to leave here at like 5:00am. Ugh. Where to meet? THe Mickey D's is the only location I know right offhand...

I will call you BEFORE we roll out from the house by about a half an hour! That way you can get there right around the same time we do?
Hey, Dave. You can "hook him up" He is actually a nice guy, and I only met him once!!!Then if you need to "hook him up" to the back of the truck and drive.
JUST KIDDING!!!
See all of you that are going this weekend.

So far the weather looks to be good. Partly cloudy all weekend, highs in the low 80's, and doesn't look like it should rain. But it rained on me here this morning and yesterday morning. So maybe it'll cleer up today and tonight and quit for the ride![]()
Jawhn, I will still call you at ZERO DARK THIRTY to get your ass movin down the road towards Indio though. So expect a phone call!!! Unless you can say you are not going. If you don't pick up than that is O.K. too I guess, I will just figure you are not going and I won't see you in Indio. Cuz after I call you we are on the road about 40min later (depending on how fast the woman can get ready).
Anyhow, see you or not this weekend.

Jawhn, Let me get back to you in a couple of hours to let you know for sure about "hookin'" you up with a place to crash.
In the spirit of our Russian brothers who have told me in all sincerity that the real greatest invention of America is the warning shot, they just shoot first first and walk away.
I think one of the denizens of this forum infered a question of stones about asking a female something.
There are those in the world that would say that seeking this house as a place to stay is a comentary on true "stones".
It is a house of 7 cats, 2 dogs, and two therapists who understand the insanity of life from participation and there are those who would cast aspersion on this house that any connection with reality is at best only fleeting and an obvious accident.
There is a reason why the line I put on the bottom of some of my posts is:
Those who can't hear the music think those who dance are crazy.
With all of that said, let me get back to ya man.
Oh yah, hey Jawhn, are you still going to head out from PHX? Like I said if you want to ride together, you can come down tonight and crash at my crib and then we can ride out together in the a.m.??? Just curious.

I decided against adding 1.5 ~ 2 hours to the trip. If I go, still planning on it/wanting to, I will leave from my house, and will more than likely take the truck and meet you in Indio. I would not be really riding much while there, mostly watching other professional riders ride. I'm seeing this as a spectator sport event, so I'd rather have my radio and comfy seat, being able to snack away, and not get fatigued from riding for ~4 hours both ways. Snacking is crutial for me, you know this.Originally Posted by speedextreme

Well I think it is silly taking the truck. But I understand why you would!! And the only thing with parking is this. You can park your bike in the infield. The truck you have to park outside in the outer parking area and walk into the infield. Plus having the truck will allow you to buy more sh!t![]()
I will call ya in the a.m.

Thanks mang! Did you find out if anyone else wants to split a room with me? I still haven't called the hotel... Worst case scenario I can sleep in my truck.Originally Posted by speedextreme

Jawhn, You can crash(hopefully not) at my place with my wife, I, and the rest of the zoo.
I am planning on riding in to Fontana from here on both days.
We're looking at you crashing here on Sat. night? right?
Jawhn, you might want to recosider your truck vs. your bike.
I remember the traffic coming out of the races last year on the 10.![]()
In your truck you may be comfortable, understood. Riding a bike splitting lanes if you do that will keep you moving on the 10.
Just a thought![]()
THANKS DAVE! (When you said "hopefully not" did you mean literal crashing? I don't want to impose)Originally Posted by bikerdave

Hmmm. Still not sure about bike/truck. Maybe I should bring the bike in the back of the truck? Kinda wimpy, I know... And/or I could ride bitch with you or Chris. Gah. I dunno. I just don't think I can talk myself into a long bike ride, by myself, with a possibility of rain, etc. etc. etc. If someone from here (Rob, Dean, cough cough) were going, I'd do it. How far out of the way is Indio from you? Maybe if it's close enough, you could meet us there tomorrow and I could leave the truck at your house and ride the bike with you guys there?

I never thought about the traffic!!!!Jawhn, YOU DO NOT WANT TO TAKE THE TRUCK!!!! Traffic is backed up for miles!!! Cuz everyone is going home from L.A./San Bern and everywhere else in that area. The bike is the only way to go. But if you bring the truck BRING THE HELMET. There might be that chance to RIDE something cool there???
But like I said the truck thing is understandable. Just don't be a wuss, if you take the truck leave the bike at home. Besides all you would need is a couch pillow under your but for the softness!!! Heh heh heh.
And ya can't ride "Beeootch" on mine, my backseat is taken remember!!?? And I don't think Dave's wife would like you "humpin" his back? BUT you could just bring the helmet, and Dave could at least ride you into the infield from the parking lot???
I can't wait.
And the long bike ride by yourself just means one of two things. Headfones with tunes. Or you get on your bike now and head down here and spend the night here!!! I am leaving by my lonesome bike too!!!
But I will call you. Soon after this post.

Alright. You talked me into taking the bike. Geez.
If I call will-call from Indio, will that be enough time? Or am I now doomed to wait in the horrific line for a ticket?
Bikerdave - thanks for the offer, but Chris's friend isn't going, so I'm gonna split the hotel with them. Yay! But I think all four of us should meet in Indio and then ride in. Chris was saying around 9:00ish?
iPod and ear buds it is, then. Shoot. Where are my ear buds? Crap. I can't remember...

Jawhn, No problems about staying. The animals, the cats at least will mostly stay out of the way. The dogs are great noise makers until they figure out that you are not a threat to this "heard". They are very closed minded out their jobs around here.
As to "crashing". I sure the XXXX hope not. I don't want to spoil the day with spending time in an emergency room. Been there done that. I am afraid that I am a reluctant lane spliter. I can't understand why I don't trust those cages. I guess I must have trust issues. Ya, think?![]()
Indio is about 15 - 20 min. depending of course east of me. I can be there at which of the fast foods there at 10 & 86.
Look for the old phart on the god's color '98 (stock)RR. OOPS I lied. It does have an after market exhaust can.
Let me think as hard as that is, didn't we have a talk about cell phones here around this race? HHHHHHUUUUUUUUMMMMMMM?????????
AS to riding bitch go, as to humping, I am know to be rather abrupt upon ocasion. I am so sorry, it seems to be one of the things from my speckeled youth that I haven't gotten rid of. Dance at your own risk.![]()
Idea!!!!!! Call the track from Indio, the track opens at 8:00, I think and see if you can get will call at that time? OR was that smell another of those brain stinkers?????
You are welcome to truck the bike in and park it at my place. I may be just forced to get myself a t-shirt about riding my bike to a race but maybe not?
Hey, Guys, ride alone, ride together, ride safe.
Like a guy said a long time ago, it's dangerous out there, be careful.
I'll be at the Miky D's at the 10 & 86 at 9:00 tomorrow.![]()
Man, you didn't read my post before yours, didja?
Thanks Dave, I am taking just the bike, and crashing with Speedextreme. But I do appreciate the offer. I'll have to bring RRZone stickers for both of ya. [/rest of forum jealousy]
