Just thought this would be a neat idea. Well myself getting ready to go for a ride, one of the last before I tear her down to put on the new upper, and R1 tail section.

I put on a new chain, (i know I need to do the gears too). Found out that I had stock gearing, which impressed me even more because I still don't know what I have for an engine. After I get the title, out comes the engine. maybe one day I'll be able to post up that I got the title.

I haven't done squat to it, since I put it together and started riding it last March. Just cleaned it a few times, adjusted the chain, adjusted the air pressure in the tires, and added a little oil.

I bought some stuff for it, but have not put it on yet (new throttle cables, K&N filter, left foot peg bracket, and a couple of the original decal-ed body panels).

I only get to ride it once every couple weeks. It just starts up with a little bit of choke and I'm off.

Yea, last week, I changed the oil and lube'd the chain.

Since the weather ad temp went south here in socal(not like you guys

up north and east, I know) but this old phart doesn't need to be cold

    riding anymore!

By mid week it should be up to where I can ride without anti freeze in

    my veins!

    Yea, I hear ya.

I spent the first part of my life in PA and the northeast.

I rode year round(yea, crazy sucka!).

Living in so cal in my dotage, I can get enough riding in the year

with the ususal weather so I don't have to ride in that kind of pain!

Started all 3 bikes on Sunday and let them run for a half hour in the driveway. The weather is a lot nicer this year than it was last year. I should be able to get out and ride some time in the next couple of weeks.

The plan for this year: fill bike with gas, ride, repeat. All you guys that mod your bikes, more power to you. A stock 954 provides all the power I need.

Um... "Weeks ago," "Last March," "Last Week"???

The thread title is what have you done to your CBR... today.

Me? Nothing. Didn't even look at it today. Had to bring some heavy boxes into work, and there was no way I was gonna try carrying them on the bike.

But in following the previous comments, recently I've just been riding it around quite a bit in the balmy 50-75F Phoenix weather. Yeah, start the hating, I know everyone hates us. But we have to endure our evil 120F summers, so it balances out!

I'm changing the color from a blue to a corvette yellow with a touch of pearl gold and then clearcoat. Also put a sharkskinz solo tail and new smaller mirrors which have the turn signals. I'm rebuilding my forks installing new brake pads and changing my chain and sprocket to a 520 convertion -1 +3 to be more wheelie friendly in third gear. I've been working on her for three weeks and should be ready next week. Johnny

Got a new Yuasa battery, sent wheels to powder coat white($106.00), new Michelin Pilot 2CT Front($116.00) & Rear tires($147.00) ready to have mounted.... new wheel and steering head bearings waiting to mount..... Fork being taken apart to revalve and new seals and oil... waiting on the fork oil measuring tool to arrive($42.00).... Factory shifter kit and NRC covers waiting to put in (waiting on ignition pulse cover to arrive to do everything this week)..... New chain coming next week..... and used Ohlins rear shock to be put in next 2 weeks....

....still looking for 49state 893cc cams to put in and sim properly so I can put the Vance & Hines PowerPack and ignition advance sprocket..... and still need to tear my carbs apart to clean them and calibrate them.....

Might pick up an Erion full exhaust system.....I already have a high mount Titanium Hindle on it.... don't know just yet.... I hate not having a right side passenger peg (even though I did order the Hindle passenger peg mounting spacers last weak - but requires cutting into the rear tail fairing to mount).... did I miss something?

Oh yeah..... Changing oil and filter when I open up the covers...

Japanese90022, ebay is usually full of used cams. I will have to try and dig up the manual for it, but I would swear that powerpack uses the stock advancer...might wanna double check.

I wrecked mine last night!!! Does that count???
Life shouldn't be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well-preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, cigar in one hand, beer in the other, body used up, totally worn-out and screaming, "WOO HOO, what a ride!"

Any thread that allows us to express ourselves creatively is gonna get attention.

Mine sat again today. Starting to crave. Maybe I'll ride it into work tomorrow...

I've been taking care of the 900 for the past few weeks. After nearly ten years and 67,000 miles, I'm doing a some needed maintenance.

    Here's the list:

    • New tires (Avon Viper Supersport AV59/AV60)
    • Powder coated the rims (years of scrapes from tire changes)
    • New CTSmoto black anodized aluminum angled valve stems (not even available yet)
    • Replaced bearings will All Balls Racing
    • Replaced the boots on the manifold and air box (they were all cracked)
    • Spark plugs
    • Air filter
    • Sync the carbs
    • Replaced fork seals and fluid (although they never once leaked in all these years)
    • Bleed all the brakes

The sun came out for one day and I was able to ride it home from my buddy's shop. It was cold and with the new tires I didn't want to push it too hard but I did get to hit a few twisties on the way home.

Man, the 900 is still a great bike and I love riding it. I've been spending a lot of time on the Repsol but I'm now looking forward to riding the new revitalized blade.
