In silver. Because I think I may have been lured in by an even more expensive & exotic Italian mistress... Performance: check. Exorbitant price: check. Looks so stunning it makes angels sing and statues of Roman goddesses weep in envy of it's more perfect proportions: check.

The F4 has always been my favorite bike, but the design had been around so long that my interest in it had faded. But the new one is gorgeous, all-new but still iconic, and almost as powerful as the BMW. I wouldn't even modify this bike. It's perfect as it is from the factory. I'd leave it exactly the same way as it was delivered down to earth by the angels. That says a lot right there.

So if I'd consider buying a $35,000 car, why not a $25,000 bike? One I'd love dearly like my '66. And one day when I inevitably come across something faster, fuck 'em. They're not on rolling artwork like the piece I'd be saddled up on.

Maybe this is me mellowing and taking on more of a cruiser personality. Maybe this is me just smitten with a design. But who'd ever think I'd say performance isn't everything or that I'd leave something completely stock and unmolested?

I'd like to add that the Ducati 848/1198 is a beautiful bike and perhaps one of the most satisfying rides I've been on. It also could be just that I haven't ridden anything in a long time. Twins aren't my preferred engine of choice and I don't like dry clutches, but they're amazing machines.

Second place in looks to the MV.

    Agreed, it IS beautiful...

    ...but...

I think I prefer the first generation. Something about the side fairings, as well as the lowers, looks somehow more Japanese to me. And those passenger pegs and hangers have to GO.

For me, the Italian hearthrob is far and away the Aprilia RSV4. Don't get me wrong; if some gorgeous Italian chick sauntered up to me and offered me the keys to a new silver MV, I wouldn't object (to her, or the bike). But the Aprilia seems, to me, to have moved the game on. Too much of the MV seems to me to have been changed for changes sake, rather for improvement.

Of course, that's just me. Your mileage may vary.

Regardless, thanks for posting some MotoPorn!!

I DO like the RSV4. Especially in white. It was almost enough to have me reconsidering my S1kRR choice. The exhaust on that bike is just terrible though. I can't find anything positive to say about it. Well, maybe one thing. At least it can unbolted from the bike rather easily and used as a bat to smash grapefruit in the cul-de-sac.

I do what I can, sir. I do what I can.

I think that it is truly a toss up between the F4 and the s1000...

I will be the owner of an s1000rr after college though.

Rob, if you can afford to, and end up buying that bike, and then leaving it stock...

I will give you a hard time about it...

    "It's crrrrryyyyiiiiing..."

Just looked at it. Doesn't strike me as the super-art you're falling under the spell of, but it is nice and "newer styling" cool...
