ok maybe im just an idiot but... are you using a 900rr subframe and moding the seat latch so the seat would fit right or are you just mounting it all on a gsxr subframe?
sooo what if i was looking to do it with a air tech race tail....there no opening in the top to work through? Suggestions?![]()
i wanted to do that, i still have the tail ... but i stumbled on those 2 problems, so i gave up and used the original gsxr tail
problem no1 : you have to figure out how to mount the back end of the tail on the subframe - you can work it from underneath
problem no2: you have to figure out how to mount the backlight on that tail - the original tail has mounting tabs for it
the rest is the same. let me know if you did it![]()
well, dark it is....
Nice conversion mate![]()
Some men see things as they are and say "WHY"
I dream of things that never was and say "WHY NOT"
how do you like the undertail? I have all the parts I need except the undertail.. i saw a sale on 58cycle for 85 bux for the GP undertail but can't decide which i like better
I am about to start my tail conversion..![]()
i agree.. i like the LEDs on the undertail you have... thanks!
great write up... i'm starting my project.. i really like the way your tail is bent and welded up.. i might try JB Weld...
anyway, here are pics... note, the fairing that is on the bike is not the one i am using... it is a test fairing so i know exactly where to cut ..
any suggestions are appreciated!! im trying to figure out the easiest way to raise the tail.. i'm nervous about cutting and welding the subframe... and i don't really want to cut the upper or lower subframe "tube" at the frame itself...
Looks gret guys. Im dong this conversion on my 97 RR. I have been debating on this or just doing a 98-99 tail. After seeing the end results this is the best way to go. Zack i have one question dude, did u bend your subframe up or no?
Very nice, this is defo a conversion im going to tackle over the winter
Also have a ssa of a vfr800 sat here waiting to go on![]()
I just got a 96 900RR and have been looking for something to do over the winter. Looks like I found it.
Thanks for the detailed layout. I can pretty much follow this step for step. I'll let you know how things go if I take this route.![]()
will this be the same for my k5 600 tail i got? cos fuck trying to do what cabbie did he is way too skilled![]()
