Help, I want a new Helmet

This is the Bell Star in a black, they had 3 shell sizes up to 09 and in 2010 they now have 5 shell sizes to acomodate different head shapes. This helmet in a large weighted in at 1500 grams. When you buy it it comes with a helmet bag and an air foil that sticks in the back to make the helmet more stable at 130+mph. You can't beat that for 199.00 on a 500.00 helmet. Johnnyh

They are great helmets, I bought one earlier this year to try out, I really like it. I wish I would have bought it for $200.00 Only gripe I have, is that the visor is super thin, feels almost cheap, but it closes good, and is quiet.

There is also alot of shield selection for this helmet including a transition visor. I will take some picks and give my opinion after I get it. Johnnyh

If you're gong to buy a Shark, you may want to buy the size that you normally wear and change out the cheek pads.

I normally wear a Large Arai (RX-7, Corsair V), which fits nice and tight when new. This is good, since the padding wears in.

The shark RSR2 I bought fits great overall, but the cheek padding is a little loose. So, I ordered the cheek padding for the large shell, size sm/med and now the helmet fits really nice.

Thanks for all the help guys I went ahead and bought the bell star that was on sale for 199.99 and I love it. From all the reviews I read they were right on the money. I wear a large in other brand such as scorpion, suomy, and hjc and they recommended a medium and it was perfect. This helmet does feel very light compared to my scorpion and it is very stable at any speed and it comes in a fancy helmet bag as well. Ventilation is great for my area and hot temps as I can even feel my hair move when the vents are open. I think I made a great choice and have a keeper. This helmet sells for 549.99 and I got a great deal for 199.99 from motorcycle close outs. They also make a photochromatic visor for this helmet. Bell is back in the game. I put a pic of my scorpion next to my bell. Johnnyh

I got the same helmet myself (the black bell helmet), thanks for pointing out that $200 deal. It's a few years old but still a pretty good deal.
