    Default EXhaust

I just wanted to see if anyone has used Vance & Hines SS2-R full exhaust system on a cbr900.

If so how does it sound and is it worth the money?

So I have the bolt on muffler for my 96 and it sounds so much better than stock. Nice low tone. Found a used one on ebay for 60 and definitely dont regret it. I have the stock header. Im pretty sure the whole system would be awesomer. <-- yup I used that word lol

When I had a 900 I had the Two Bro's exhaust and that I thought was the best, quiet around town but when ya got on it they knew. Back in '99 set me back $900 USD and it was worth it. Slip-on's are good for sound on the carb'ed bikes but performance ya gotta do the whole system. Still pretty new to the fuel injection so I think that a slip on works OK as long as you toss in an fuel map. If ya can save your pennies and get a full system, easy to bolt on

I would polish the exhaust side of the head if you replace the header. Flow baby flow

For sure full system is the way to go with the old bikes, made a huge difference once jetted right. $900 sounds cheap for a full system nowadays. I had a a full titanium system hand made for my 93 and put an Ti Akrapovic can on it, I won't say out loud how much that cost, my wife might find out.

I agree. I've been looking for a full system for my 06 and gasped for air . . . $1500-ish. YIKES

Another vote for a full exhaust for more power and improved sound.
