180kmph Limiter on a Japanese 2010 Honda CBR 1000RR

Hi forum members.

Please can i get help on my bikes limiter pegged at 180kmph.
It is very annoying when you own a 1000cc bike and you have the road but have to go as slow as this.

please i need help.

Yes Blademan. I mean 180kmph. and once the bike gets to this speed...it doest go again.

I guess the next question(s) would be is there any aftermarket ECU in the bike. 180 KPH is roughly 112 MPH. I know the manufacturers all agreed to limit speed to 185 MPH or 300 KPH out of the box. If your bike will only do the 180KPH there has got to be something in the brain or final drive has been severely modified. How big is the rear sprocket? If not the sprocket the programing in the brain has got to be limiting the fuel delivery, what RPM are you at when running at 180KPH?

Blademan. thanks for responding once again but looks like you are not getting the point. The japanese laws prevents bikes from reaching its highest speed of the 300kmph. all bikes used in Japan will definitely be limited to 180kmph or 185kmph which like you said is the 112mph approximately.

This is no news at all. There is nothing wrong on the back. Sprockets are normal, both front and back, ECU definitely has been reprogram to help in the less fuel delivery. the air chambers have a very small units for breathing out loud. this is what the Japanese do to bikes meant to be used in Japan and even they do same to cars as well.

All i am asking is How do i get rid of this limiter.

Some limiters when done to your bike can even make you get 200kmph but most often you get the 180/185kmph.

Nice, I wish to upgrade to the Honda CBR 1000RR soon. I currently own the CBR 150R.

I don't think you can do it on your own if you are planning to do it with the ECU. However, you can adjust the shift light to redline early on the rev band. I have done that on my CBR150R using these steps by Mototech India and also other bikes like KTM RC 390 has that feature. In Ktm bikes you can simply do it with the help of the mode and set button.
