Default To Warm or Not To Warm

So I've been doing the track day thing more and more and running Dunlop Q2's and soon to be Q3's. Some people nex to me in the pis say that I need tire warmers and others say nah just give it 2 laps before ya hit it hard. Anyone have any comment as I know there are a few of us oldtimers in here that do track more regularly tha I do.

Then it may lead me to the next questions why are the Chicken\hawk ones soooo much more than the Pit Posse ones ? And will the less expensive ones work if used a few times a year ?

You should be fine without using tire warmers, unless it is really freezing outside.

At a track day, you can just do a lap at a bit slower pace and warm them up. I used to do a lot of track day and no one (except the racers running slicks) used tire warmers.

If you were racing, then warmers let you start out at 100%.

Cool, that is just about the same advice a dealer just gave me about warmers thanks guys. More pennies to spend on something else for the bike.
